Lausanne Jardins 2000, “Jardins la ville”
For the second event, the concept was quite different. Rather than running along paths, it spread over four chosen areas: the cemetery of Bois de Vaux, the hill and the park of Montriond, the Montbenon esplanade, and the roofs of a warehouse district in the centre of the city. The garden sites were selected in order to establish a strong contrast with the general aspects and uses of these areas.
Amongst the 30 gardens that were built for this second edition, we can mention : Paysagestion & Jean-Claude Deschamps (Rêves) ; Francesca Kamber Maggini, Alain Poroli & Renato Tagli (Tapis volant) ; Jean-Gilles Decosterd & Philippe Rahm (Roundup) ; Philippe Beboux & Stéphanie Bender (Fibres végétales) ; Marie-Hélène Giraud & Claudine Romer Charles (Chambres avec vue) ; Laurent Daune, Patrick Devanthéry & Ines Lamunière (Des journées entières dans les arbres) ; Ryffel & Ryffel (Hermès et Angélique) ; Atelier Tangentes (La Blanche envolée) ; Werner Rueger & Theo Spinnler (La présence de l’absence).
